TIMOLOL

Timolol

Timolol is a topical medication (applied directly in the eye) that effectively reduces internal pressure in the eye. Timolol is used in the treatment of glaucoma to lower elevated eye pressure that could damage vision and with other glaucoma medications to further reduce pressure in the eye.
ADULTS
Your doctor will tailor an individual Timolol dosage depending on your medical condition and how you responded to any previous glaucoma treatment.
The usual recommended initial dose is to place 1 drop of 0.25 percent Timolol in the affected eye(s) twice a day. If you do not respond satisfactorily to this dosage your doctor may tell you to place 1 drop of 0.5 percent Timolol in the affected eye(s) twice a day.
The usual dose of Timolol-XE is 1 drop of either 0.25 percent or 0.5 percent in the affected eye(s) once a day. Invert the closed container and shake it once before you use it.
The usual dose of Betimol is 1 drop of either 0.25 percent or 0.5 percent in the affected eye(s) twice a day.
